Masahiro Yanagi
This NY trip gave me a good opportunity to think about the medical treatment of Japan all over again and also I noticed the importance of communicating in English. But I have to keep using English after this trip too and be more and more confident in English. And in the future, I will go back to America and do research with brilliant doctors from all over the world.
和訳 今回のニューヨーク研修は、日本の医療についてもう一度考え直すよい機会となりました。同時に英語でコミュニケーションをとることの重要性にも気付かされました。もちろん研修後もコンスタントに英語を使う練習をしていくつもりですし、英語に対するさらなる自信をつけていかなければなりません。そして将来またアメリカに行って、世界の優秀なドクターたちと共に研究をしたいと思っています。

Hirotaka Ishido
Even only two weeks, I’m truly glad that I was able to have great experiences and meeting. I realized that it is important to touch another culture and discuss with foreigners to expand our horizons. In addition to travel abroad, if we can use English, we can have chance to have wonderful experience more and more through communicating with people all over the world regardless races and borders.
和訳 たった２週間ではありましたが、貴重な経験と出会いをすることができ、本当に感謝しています。他国の文化に触れ、他国の人々と話し合って自分の視野を広げることが重要だと気がつきました。単に外国旅行をするだけでなく、英語が使えることにより、世界中の人々と人種や国の別に関わらず意思疎通することで、さらに素晴らしい経験をする機会ができます。

Yusuke Seki
The people we have met , the places we have visited, and the experiences we have had were all fascinating! The experience in NYC helped me understand the different sides of both Japanese and American culture but also in medicine. It opened my mind and heart.
和訳 NYCで出会った人々、訪れた場所、経験の全てが魅力的なものでした。 NYCでの経験は、日本とアメリカの文化だけでなく医療の異なる側面を理解する手助けとなりました。それは私の知性と心を開いてくれました。

Kaoru Matsuda
When I spoke to someone on the street, they were so kind and they told me so many things, in addition to the questions I asked. They looked like they wanted to communicate with me. For 2 weeks, in such surrounding, naturally I became more active and its change was confortable for me.
和訳 道で歩いている人に話しかけると、ニューヨークの人は皆とても親切で、私がした質問以上に多くのことを教えてくれました。私との会話を楽しんでいるようにも見えました。このような環境に包まれた２週間を過ごし、自然と私もより積極的になっていったのですが、その変化は自分にとってなんだか心地よいものでした。

My colleagues were all so bright and kind and honest, and I always felt comfortable with them. I remember every wonderful time as clear as it happened yesterday. I very appreciate Kanazawa University and Professor Schneider and my friends and my parents to give me such a great opportunity. I want this program will be held for younger medical students.
和訳 一緒に行った友達たちはみんなとても賢く優しく、また正直な子ばかりで、常に楽しく快適な時間を過ごすことができました。ニューヨークでの素晴らしかった日々は、今でも鮮明に、まるで昨日の事のように思い出すことができます。金沢大学、シュナイダー教授、一緒に過ごした仲間、そして私の家族には、このような素晴らしい機会を頂けたことをとても感謝しています。このプラグラムが私達の後輩の年にもまた行われるといいなと思います。

Rihito Tamaki
Through the two-week trip, I tried to speak almost in English. It was very hard challenge, but it certainly improved my English skill. In addition, we visited many famous places, and talked with people living in NY. They were very kind and spirited. It surprised me because there were few people who were kind to us and took care of us in the developed cities I had ever been to. So, I consider that NY makes people spirited and NY is the liveliest city in the world. NY has everything and changes even people!
和訳 二週間の研修の間、なるべく普段から積極的に英語を使うように心がけました。思うようなことをなかなか伝えられず大変なこともありましたが、確実に英語力は上がったと思います。そして、名所と呼ばれるところを色々訪れ、ニューヨーカーとの会話を楽しみました。今まで行った先進国ではあまり親切にしてくれるような人はいなかったのですが、私が話したニューヨーカーはとても親切で、そして生き生きとしていて驚きました。ニューヨークには全てがあるだけでなくて、人でさえも変えてしまうのだと思いました。

Taketo Kubo
Through entire this trip, I had many opportunities to speak English. I spent time surrounded by English. So I got used to English and came to not hesitate to speak English. Now I do not care even if I make mistakes in my English. It is the biggest change for me. And I made amazing memories with my friends and Prof. Schneider in this trip. I am really happy to join this program. I am grateful for all the help and support.
和訳 この研修全体を通して、私は多くの英語を話す機会を持つことができました。この2週間英語に囲まれた時間を過ごせたことで、英語に慣れ、自分の英語が多少間違っていようが話すことをためらわなくなるようになりました。これが私にとっての最大の変化です。また、この研修で私の友人、そしてシュナイダー先生と素晴らしい思い出を作ることができました。このプログラムに参加することができて本当によかったです。今回の研修において支援、協力してくださったすべての人に感謝します。ありがとうございました。

I felt these 2 weeks were very short. I had many chances to discover new things, because I have never gone abroad before. I am grateful to all people having to do with this program.
和訳 この２週間はとても短く感じました。海外に行くこと自体初めてだったので、初めて体験することがたくさんありました。このプログラムに関わってくださった全ての方に感謝したいです。

Hironori Kuroda
After finishing my program, I get confidence that I can go to foreign countries to study. Now, I wish I will be a researcher in America one day and I know I can make it.
和訳 このプログラムを終えて、留学して海外で学ぶことになってもやっていける自信をつけました。今では、将来アメリカで研究をしたいと感じていますし、僕ならやっていけるだろうと自信を得ました。

Ayaka Yoroidaka
After this trip, I found I became to have less hesitation when I talked with the member of the laboratory. I still make many mistakes of grammar but I understand it is more important to try to communicate using my words, face, and body.
和訳 本研修に参加する前は、上手に英語を話せない恥ずかしさから、大学の研究室のメンバーと話すことに対して抵抗を感じることがありました。しかし研修の後、今までより積極的に彼らに話しかけられるようになりました。もちろん文法や単語を言い間違ってしまうことはまだまだありますが、まずは自分の言葉、表情、ジェスチャーを駆使して、相手とコミュニケーションをとろうとすることが大切なのだと今回の研修を通して気づくことができました。

I felt that American people place high importance on communication. We must be active while in class and at laboratories. Student’s speaking was as important as teacher’s speaking.
和訳 アメリカの人は、人と人とのコミュニケーションを非常に重要視しているように感じました。授業中や研究室では、私達は常に積極的な態度でなければいけませんし、学生が意見することが、先生が話すのと同じレベルで重要視されているようでした。

Yoshitada Toyota
I had a precious time in NY. I will make full use of my experience and continue studying English. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to go to NY.
和訳 ニューヨークでは貴重な時間を過ごしました。この経験をフルに生かすとともに、英語の勉強をし続けます。ニューヨークに行く機会を与えていただいてありがとうございます。

Naoki Yamamoto
In this trip, I could compare Japan with America and found many good and bad points of the Japanese medicine from an outside point of view. I thought I had to go to America to study advanced medicine and I could have the much higher ambition. I'll keep brushing up my English skill and I want to go to America alone the next time.
和訳 この旅で、私は日本とアメリカを比較することができ、日本の医学を外から見た時の良い点、悪い点を多く見つけました。私は最新の医学を学ぶためにアメリカに行かねばと思い、もっと大きな野心を持たねばと思いました。私は英語力をブラッシュアップし続け、次回はひとりでアメリカに行きたいと思います。」
