ＮＹ医学研修プログラム（2017年8月）

I participated in various medical activities on this trip, including the medical English class, the simulation training, the shadowing, and the visits with Japanese researchers. They were important experiences because they helped me have a deeper understanding of the American medical system and pointed out for me what was needed when I try to work there. Especially the first three sessions, the English class, the simulation training, and the shadowing, have made my language skills much better, and also I could consider what good healthcare means for patients by comparing good aspects of both Japanese and American systems. Moreover, I got many new ideas of international career building by talking with the Japanese doctors about what they thought of working in the United States. What I learned in this program was very informative, and I am sure it is going to expand the range of my work field in the future.

今回の研修では、医学英語の授業、シミュレーショントレーニング、シャドウウイング、研究室訪問を含む様々な医学活動に参加することができました。実際の診療風景を拝見したり、日本との医療体制の違いを肌で感じたりすることによって、今までの漠然としたアメリカの医療に対するイメージがより現実味を帯びて具現化し、これから習得すべき課題を確認することができました。特に、医学英語の授業、シミュレーショントレーニング、シャドウウイングでは、私の言語スキルを向上させることができた上、日本とアメリカの医療の良い側面を比較することで、何が患者さんにとっての良い医療なのかを再考する機会ともなりました。さらに、多くの日本人医師とお話しすることで、アメリカで働くとはどういうことなのか具体的に伺うことができ、国際的なキャリアの積み方についても幅広く見識を広げることができました。私が本研修で学んだことはすべてかけがえのない財産となり、今後の将来の選択肢を広げてくれるものだと確信しています。
